McDCSN Home

The McDonnell Center for Systems Neuroscience provides a nucleus of support for research activities intended to shed light on the nature of brain circuits and brain function. Our Center brings together multi-disciplinary teams from across the Washington University campuses to explore the general principles and models of neural circuits and how they respond to stimuli.  Our research investigates all areas of neural function, including:

  • mathematical and computational methods
  • nonlinear dynamical systems theory
  • cellular and synaptic biophysics
  • learning and problem-solving
  • brain and neuronal architecture and functionality
